Role Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join our Core Engineering – Hardware team. This role focuses on the development of high-performance embedded software for advanced electro-optic vision systems and real-time video processing applications.

You will be responsible for designing and optimizing embedded software that powers next- generation imaging systems, working across the complete video processing pipeline from image acquisition to real-time enhancement and hardware acceleration. The ideal candidate has strong expertise in modern C++, embedded Linux, digital video processing, and heterogeneous computing platforms.

You will collaborate closely with FPGA Engineers, Hardware Engineers, DSP Engineers, and System Architects to build robust, high-performance embedded solutions for mission-critical applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize embedded software for real-time electro-optic vision systems.
  • Develop high-performance applications in Modern C++ for embedded Linux platforms.
  • Build and optimize real-time video processing pipelines using GStreamer and multimedia frameworks.
  • Develop and integrate image enhancement, video stabilization, noise reduction, and image processing algorithms.
  • Collaborate with FPGA Engineers to integrate hardware-accelerated IP blocks into embedded software applications.
  • Optimize software for Vision SoCs, DSPs, and heterogeneous computing platforms.
  • Develop and maintain low-level device interfaces, camera drivers, and hardware abstraction layers.
  • Work closely with hardware teams to integrate camera sensors, video interfaces, and imaging subsystems.
  • Analyze and optimize system performance, memory utilization, CPU load, and video processing latency.
  • Participate in software architecture, design reviews, debugging, validation, and product verification.
  • Develop reusable software libraries, SDKs, and internal engineering tools.
  • Ensure software quality through code reviews, testing, documentation, and continuous integration.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Dual Degree in Computer Science, Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE), Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related discipline from a premier institute or leading university.
  • 3+ years of experience in Embedded Software Development.
  • Strong programming expertise in Modern C++.
  • Experience developing software for Embedded Linux platforms.
  • Strong understanding of embedded systems architecture and real-time software development.
  • Experience working with GStreamer and multimedia/video processing pipelines.
  • Good understanding of digital image processing and video camera systems.
  • Experience integrating software with embedded hardware platforms.
  • Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Experience

Candidates should have experience in several of the following:

  • Electro-optic imaging systems and vision-based embedded applications.
  • Digital Signal Processing (DSP) algorithms for image and video enhancement.
  • Vision SoCs such as Xilinx Zynq, AMD/Xilinx MPSoCs, NVIDIA Jetson, NXP i.MX, TI Jacinto, Qualcomm QRB, or equivalent embedded platforms.
  • FPGA integration and hardware-accelerated IP blocks.
  • Real-time video analytics, image enhancement, or computational imaging.
  • Camera interfaces such as MIPI CSI, Camera Link, GigE Vision, USB3 Vision, HDMI, or SDI.
  • Video codecs, streaming protocols, and multimedia frameworks.
  • Multithreaded programming, memory optimization, and performance tuning.
  • Cross-compilation, embedded toolchains, and Linux device drivers.
  • Git, CMake, CI/CD, and modern embedded software development practices.
