Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Network Engineer (Latency Optimization) to join our Network & Infrastructure team. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing the firm’s mission-critical network infrastructure.

You will play a key role in building resilient, high-performance networks with a strong focus on latency optimization, exchange connectivity, routing, switching, and cloud networking. Working closely with Core Engineering, Trading, Infrastructure, and Security teams, you will ensure that our production network delivers exceptional reliability, scalability, and deterministic performance.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience with enterprise and low-latency networking, strong troubleshooting capabilities, and a deep understanding of network architecture in performance- critical environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and maintain low-latency network infrastructure supporting trading and
    business-critical applications.
  • Optimize network performance to minimize latency, packet loss, and jitter across production
    environments.
  • Configure and manage enterprise-grade Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching and routing
    infrastructure.
  • Build and maintain resilient network architectures with high availability and redundancy.
  • Manage exchange connectivity, leased lines, internet circuits, and WAN connectivity.
  • Configure and troubleshoot routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, VRRP, and static
    routing.
  • Monitor network health, analyze traffic patterns, and proactively identify performance
    bottlenecks.
  • Perform capacity planning, network upgrades, and infrastructure lifecycle management.
  • Implement network security best practices, including ACLs, segmentation, and secure remote
    connectivity.
  • Manage and optimize AWS networking components, including VPCs, VPNs, Transit
    Gateway, Direct Connect, Security Groups, Route Tables, and Load Balancers.
  • Collaborate with Core Engineering teams to support latency-sensitive trading infrastructure
    and production deployments.
  • Develop network automation scripts and operational tools using Python, Ansible, or similar
    technologies.
  • Participate in production support, root cause analysis, disaster recovery planning, and
    infrastructure improvements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics &
    Communication Engineering, or a related discipline from a premier institute or leading
    university.
  • 5+ years of experience in Enterprise Networking, Data Centre Networking, Financial
    Services, Electronic Trading, or High-Performance Infrastructure.
  • Strong hands-on experience with enterprise switching and routing technologies.
  • Excellent understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking concepts.
  • Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, STP, LACP, Multicast, QoS, NAT, DHCP, DNS, and
    network performance optimization.
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting BGP, OSPF, VRRP, and other routing
    protocols.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco, Arista, Juniper, or equivalent enterprise networking
    platforms.
  • Experience managing AWS networking services and hybrid cloud connectivity.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and incident management skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Certifications

Candidates should hold one or more of the following certifications:

  • CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate)
  • CCNP Enterprise (Cisco Certified Network Professional)
  • CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure (preferred for senior candidates)

Equivalent certifications from other networking vendors will also be considered.

Preferred Experience

Candidates should have experience in several of the following:

  • High Frequency Trading (HFT), Electronic Trading, Financial Services, or latency-sensitive
    production environments.
  • Latency optimization and network performance tuning.
  • Exchange connectivity and market data infrastructure.
  • Arista EOS, Cisco IOS-XE/NX-OS, Juniper Junos, or similar enterprise networking
    platforms.
  • AWS networking and hybrid cloud infrastructure.
  • Network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, Zabbix, Grafana, Prometheus, or
    equivalent.
  • Linux networking and packet analysis using tools such as tcpdump and Wireshark.
  • Python, Ansible, or infrastructure automation.
  • High availability, disaster recovery, and infrastructure resilience planning.
