Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior System Engineer to join our Network & Infrastructure team. This role is responsible for managing and maintaining the firm’s critical server infrastructure, hardware environment, and enterprise systems that support trading, research, and business operations.

You will oversee the deployment, administration, monitoring, and optimization of Linux and Windows-based infrastructure while collaborating closely with Network Engineers, Core Engineering teams, and IT Operations. The ideal candidate has strong expertise in systems administration, enterprise hardware management, virtualization, storage, and server infrastructure, along with a good understanding of networking fundamentals.

This is a hands-on infrastructure role requiring a proactive engineer who can ensure high availability, performance, and operational reliability across production environments.

Key Responsibilities

Administer, maintain, and optimize Linux servers and Windows infrastructure across production environments.
Install, configure, and manage physical servers, enterprise hardware, storage systems, and workstation infrastructure.
Monitor system health, performance, availability, and capacity to ensure maximum uptime.
Perform hardware installation, upgrades, maintenance, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management.
Manage enterprise server environments including BIOS, firmware, RAID configurations, and hardware diagnostics.
Configure and administer virtualization platforms and virtual machine environments.
Work closely with Network Engineers to support switching, routing, VLAN configuration, firewall policies, and enterprise connectivity.
Manage user access, authentication services, Active Directory, LDAP, DNS, DHCP, and file services.
Perform operating system patching, upgrades, backup management, and disaster recovery activities.
Troubleshoot operating system, hardware, storage, and infrastructure-related issues.
Maintain infrastructure documentation, asset inventory, and standard operating procedures.
Collaborate with Engineering, Security, and IT teams to support production deployments and infrastructure improvements.
Participate in infrastructure planning, automation initiatives, and operational support.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related discipline from a premier institute or leading university.
5+ years of experience in System Administration, Infrastructure Engineering, or Enterprise IT Operations.
Strong hands-on experience administering Linux servers (Ubuntu, RHEL, CentOS, Rocky Linux, or similar).
Good experience managing Microsoft infrastructure.
Strong understanding of enterprise server hardware, storage systems, RAID, and hardware troubleshooting.
Experience managing virtualization platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox, or similar.
Good understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, routing, and switching.
Experience working with enterprise storage, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.
Strong scripting and automation exposure using Bash, PowerShell, Python, or similar
technologies.
Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Experience

Candidates should have experience in several of the following:

Financial Services, High Frequency Trading (HFT), FinTech, Data Centre, or enterprise production environments.
Dell, HPE, Lenovo, Supermicro, or enterprise server platforms.
Linux performance tuning and system optimization.
Enterprise monitoring tools such as Zabbix, Grafana, Prometheus, Nagios, or similar.
Active Directory, Group Policy, LDAP, and identity management.
SAN/NAS storage solutions.
VMware vSphere, ESXi, or equivalent virtualization technologies.
Basic firewall administration and network security practices.
Infrastructure automation using Ansible or similar tools.
Cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure (preferred).
