Role Overview:

We are looking for a highly skilled System Engineer (C++) to join our Core Engineering – Infrastructure team responsible for building the high-performance systems that power our electronic trading infrastructure.

This role focuses on system-level engineering, kernel bypass networking, high-performance packet processing, and ultra-low latency infrastructure. You will work closely with Low-Latency Software Developers, Core Engineers, Infrastructure Engineers, and Quantitative Trading teams to design and optimize systems where every microsecond matters.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in Linux systems programming, networking internals, modern C++, and high-performance computing (HPC). You will be responsible for designing and optimizing networking stacks, reducing system latency, improving throughput, and building highly efficient software for production trading environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and optimize high-performance system software using Modern C++.
  • Build ultra-low latency networking solutions for electronic trading platforms.
  • Develop and optimize kernel bypass networking applications using technologies such as DPDK, Solarflare/OpenOnload, AF_XDP, RDMA, or equivalent.
  • Design high-performance packet processing pipelines and network communication frameworks.
  • Optimize TCP/IP, UDP, multicast, and socket-based communication for deterministic latency.
  • Analyze and improve system performance across CPU, memory, storage, networking, and operating system layers.
  • Develop low-level libraries and infrastructure for market data distribution and order execution.
  • Collaborate with Low-Latency Software Developers and Infrastructure Engineers to enhance overall trading system performance.
  • Profile, benchmark, and optimize applications using modern performance analysis tools.
  • Investigate production performance issues and implement scalable, long-term engineering solutions.
  • Contribute to system architecture, code reviews, and engineering best practices.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Dual Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mathematics & Computing, or a related discipline from a premier institute or leading university.
  • 2+ years of experience in Systems Programming, High-Performance Computing (HPC), Low-Latency Infrastructure, Networking, or Distributed Systems.
  • Strong expertise in Modern C++ (C++17/20), STL, multithreading, and concurrent programming.
  • Excellent understanding of Linux internals, operating systems, memory management, scheduling, and process architecture.
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, UDP, multicast, sockets, and network protocol optimization.
  • Experience with Linux systems programming and performance optimization.
  • Strong debugging, profiling, and analytical problem-solving skills.

Preferred Experience:

Candidates should have experience in several of the following:

  • Kernel bypass technologies such as DPDK, AF_XDP, Solarflare/OpenOnload, RDMA, or XDP/eBPF.
  • High-performance packet processing.
  • Linux Kernel internals and systems programming.
  • CPU cache optimization, NUMA architecture, CPU affinity, huge pages, and memory optimization.
  • Lock-free programming and concurrent data structures.
  • Network stack optimization and NIC tuning.
  • Performance profiling using perf, VTune, Valgrind, gdb, or similar tools.
  • High-performance messaging frameworks.
  • Electronic Trading, High Frequency Trading (HFT), FinTech, Telecommunications, or High- Performance Computing environments.
  • Build systems, CI/CD pipelines, Git, and modern software engineering practices.
